Morning Moose Ride

After a few sketchy encounters with hunters on the trails near Logan, Hux and I called it early and made camp. We set the alarm to wake well before sunrise and hit the road, determined to log some miles in Park City before heading to the office.

The 30-degree start demanded additional layers be added, adjusted and later shed. However, the solitude and stillness of biking on the firm morning trails was worth every stop. As the sun rose over the sleepy streets of Park City, the aspens began to glow their classic brilliant  yellow.

I was making great time and feeling like the 10:00 a.m. objective of being at my desk was attainable, when I came across a mother moose and her two kiddos. They refused to get off the trail, and meandered along slowly for around 20 minutes, crushing my PR and punctuality.

Worth it.
