Ruth Lake

Saturday was a full day. I woke up at 3:00 a.m., spent way too long messing around with a GoPro and gyro, and drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon to start my morning. 7,450 ft of vertical, eight hours, and five named summits over 11,000 ft later and I had completed the Cottonwood Ridge Traverse.

Ending in Little Cottonwood Canyon, I was a bit worried about the time it would take to make it back to the trailhead at the start of the traverse. Luckily, an incredibly kind stranger picked me up and took me out of her way and back to my truck.

It was a great morning (GoPro footage coming soon), but I had an eventful afternoon lined up as well. I arrived at the house around 3:30 to meet up with Zeppelin, shot some espresso, showered, and packed my backpack for the Uintas.

Ruth Lake

We set up camp at Ruth Lake and walked a few hundred yards over to the beautiful face for a sunset climb. With limited light and waning energy, we were only able to get in a couple routes before retiring. We cooked over the fire and shot the shit before calling it a night on a ridiculously fun day in Utah.
