Glacier Part 1
After the raft season at the Flying Pig Adventure Company came to a close in early September, I decided I needed a miniature vacation. Having worked every day for a few months straight shooting raft photos, nature photography was once again calling my name. So, I drove north to Glacier National Park. It was a great trip, and I went home with some photos I was happy with. However, after the trip, real life took hold, and I've only recently had the chance to sort and process pictures from this regal adventure.
Huxley pup and I headed north, late in the afternoon. We drove straight and arrived on the outskirts of the park at around 11pm. Having failed to make any real plans the day before, I hastily Googled "free camping Glacier NP" in an attempt to acquire some insider tips on avoiding the $20 gouge the park would hit us with for our 5 hours of car camping. One source alerted me that Moose Lake was a free campground, and was located in the pristine Flathead National Forest. We drove there. The plan was to stay for a few days, due to the 20 miles of dirt road access necessary to reach the lake. I was really looking forward to hanging out, shooting photos, reading, and eating bacon. As luck should have it, we awoke to rain. With no signs of letting up, and an uncomfortably packed car, it was time to get out of there.
Despite the rain, Hux and I still managed to find some great sights. It's quite the place --
